We recently met up with Jules, founder of Supercar Management Services in London, a car concierge,service which is currently making lots of noise in the market; buying a luxury car is just the beginning but managing and maintaining it is where Supercar Management Services comes in
Jules when did you discover your passion for cars?
My passion started when I was 5 during a family trip to Maranello, hometown of Ferrari. It was winter, the city was quiet: I remember a fantastic treasure hunt to find some red supercars.
Thereafter, I started reading the Sport-Auto Magazine classifieds, and my passion for luxury cars was born. It kept growing the following years as I was reading all the newspapers I could, attending motor shows and races, spotting supercars in Monaco or Paris. Knowing the supercar world helped me to start my career in luxury within BMW Group’s PR team, where I learnt a lot about exclusive events management and the ultra high-net worth individuals lifestyle.
How did the idea come about for Supercar Management Services?
All of my adult life I have worked in the luxury industry, in the guest services team of one of the very best hotels in the world (the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris) and in the lifestyle management team in London’s Harrods. It helped me refine my idea of highly-bespoke and discreet service and my clients loved my discrete approach which is being always available and quick. I had a very extensive understanding of their needs, and I was regularly asked to provide solutions for lifestyle management. It was the obvious next step for me to specialize my business in providing lifestyle management in the industry I master the most, luxury cars.
What services does your company provide?
Supercar Management Services is here to help our clients enjoy the ownership of their luxury car, I aim to be a luxury car concierge, a personal assistant dedicated to the client’s car. Hence we provide services all along the ownership experience, from buying the car, to maintaining it to selling it. With our fleet services, we will take care of the maintenance planning of the car, its cleanliness with valeting and detailing on a regular basis chosen by the client, making sure it is always in a pristine condition. We take care of repairs and have a team working overnight to ensure a discrete and smooth process. For example, if a client dents a wheel or a bumper in the evening, we can collect the car at his convenience and repair it during the night. The client will have his car back the next day in a showroom condition!
It is also possible to let us know when the car is not going to be needed, and we can rent it to luxury rental agencies in the meantime and reduce the ownership costs.
We provide support to build a profitable car collection and help clients invest in classic cars – sourcing, renovation, insurance, storage and to finish, we can take care of our clients’ luxury errands and personal shopping, e.g. preparing food for a private jet trip or collecting last minute shopping before a gala.
What’s your best achievement to date?
I want to keep the service as personalised as possible, and to make sure each client is known and feels special. It means my clients have my personal number and that I am available at any time. My best achievement to date was to help a customer sort his insurances issues with the police to release his impounded car imported from the Middle East to Europe without the adequate authorisations. The customer was thrilled by our efficiency!
Have you had any celebrities or famous clients?
I have been handling the unique requests of royal families and some of the wealthiest people in the world. And my customers value my discretion.
Whats the future look like for Supercar Management Services and what are you most excited about?
The wealth and luxury industry continues its strong expansion and there is a similarly growing demand for freedom and time that luxury services offer. People want to maximise their time and make the most of it. Our services help clients live the lifestyle they desire. Hence we are planning to organise luxury experiences – track days, road trips – through Europe. I am the absolute expert on the French market, having worked 7 years in Paris most exclusive areas. I would like to like to create highly-tailored and truly magical experiences in France for clients from all around the world.
What car would you own if you could choose any?
I am currently renovating my lovely Citroë
n 2CV, which is as far as you can from a supercar! But my dream car is Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta. You should hear its naturally-aspirated V8; this car is what dreams are made of!
